Sweden Rocks!

December 10-14, 2007
I checked at the New 7th Storey Guest House,, which was pretty nice. I took a bed in a three bed dorm room, sharing it with a young man from Sweden, nice guy. The second night we shared as well with an older guy from Colorado. I was left alone for the third night as both my roomies left. It was good to have a break; but the best surprise was the next morning!
Ten o'clock, and I'm just getting ready to head out and "knock, knock"...yeah just like the start of a bad joke. The door opens and in walks my two new roommates for the next two nights. "Hi, my name is Asley and this is my friend Inga...we're from Sweden." Sweden rocks!
We went our separate ways for the daytime; but talked til 4am that night. Was waaay cool!
On the eleventh I met up with Jamie, Hazel and Phoebe, all great couchsurfing people. Forgetting that Jamie was a nutritionist, I proceeded top order deep fried wanton and a Coke for dinner. She didn't say anything until we sat down, then she let me have it! Oh well, I probably deserved it; but in fairness I lost 3kg while in Singapore and KL after! And at least I knew where the old fire station was!(inside joke).
We went to a Caribbean bar/lounge with live music. Music was excellent...beer was expensive! lol
The next day Hazel took me around to different parts of Singapore. We went and saw an art exhibit called "Noise", which is Malaysian young artists in various categories including music, photography and other types of edgy stuff. After that we went for dinner with a friend of Hazels...turned out to be one of the local artists Jessica Choo. So that was pretty interesting.
Also met Jessica Tan from KL in Singapore as she was there for work as an event coordinator. I would have liked to met up with her back in KL; but the plan never came together.
